Since reality star Kim Zolciak filed for divorce from her husband and former Atlanta Falcon Kroy Biermann earlier this month, both sides have been throwing allegations about the other one in court filings.

The pair have four children together.

Zolciak said in court papers that Biermann has been smoking weed and needs to be drug tested. As a result, she “has serious concerns for the safety and well being of the minor children.”

In response, Biermann has accused Zolciak of excessive online gambling.

“During the parties’ marriage, Respondent (Zolciak-Biermann) presented very troubling behavior which has accelerated in the months leading up to Petitioner’s filing for divorce,” the court documents claim, according to People magazine. Biermann alleges that Zolciak-Biermann “acknowledged spending substantial time and marital funds on gambling and other games of chance.”

He claims she has negatively impacted their financial well being for her and their four children. “Respondent’s time is so consumed with online gambling that she is unable to properly care for the children,” the court document said. “As such, Petitioner is concerned for the children’s safety and well-being.”

The couple married in 2012 after meeting at a charity event that was televised on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” They then were part of Bravo’s “Tardy for the Party” spin-off show for eight seasons until 2020.

Atlanta native Su Solo has jumped from hip-hop station Streetz 94.5 to rival Hot 107.9 as the new midday host, taking over for another Streetz alum Mo Quick, who left Hot after two years.

“Atlanta is a special place. I grew up with the understanding that radio personalities were more like your best friend, community advocates, entrepreneurs, and so much more,” Solo said in a press release. “It’s a big dream come true to not only be in this position but to grow with (Hot parent company) Radio One, which has always set the bar in this city and beyond. I prayed for this. I’m ready for this.”

This is the second time Solo has replaced Quick. She did the same at Streetz in early 2021, taking Quick’s spot in afternoons.

“Su brings new energy and is a staple in Atlanta entertainment,” said Hot 107.9 Program Director Devin Steel. “We’re excited for her brand, infectious personality, and passion for the 404 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays.”

John Weatherford, an Emmy winning producer who ran Atlanta public radio and TV operation WABE for 11 years, has died.

His daughter on his Facebook page announced his death, noting that he passed last Friday from complications of pancreatic cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. June 3 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Georgia Audubon Society.

He was a reporter, anchor, producer and executive producer at WAGA-TV for 15 years when it was a CBS affiliate. He also produced the station’s “PM Magazine.”

Weatherford then ran his own Weatherford Communications for 15 years before joining Public Broadcasting Atlanta (WABE-FM and WPBA-TV/30) in 2004. He was senior vice president and general manager, then chief operating officer. During his time there, he spent a lot of energy building WABE’s newsroom, which has become even bigger since he left.

He also converted WABE-FM into a full news/talk operation, placing classical music on a secondary HD signal.

Weatherford was inducted into the Georgia Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2019.
