Pandemic or no pandemic, the first full week of the Tokyo Olympics will air this week on many, many NBC affiliated channels.
But that is hardly the only game in town.
Disney is simultaneously releasing its high-budget family film “Jungle Cruise,” partly shot in Atlanta, on its Disney+ service and in movie theaters on Friday. Over on Netflix, a new Jean-Claude Van Damme film comes out called “The Last Mercenary” and the popular drama “Outer Banks” returns for a second season.
Paramount+ resurrects the old VH1 “Behind the Music” doc series starting Thursday while NGC brings back a Cesar Millan-led dog reality show Friday.
Showtime airs season finales Sunday of “The Chi” and “Black Monday” while AMC wraps up season one of “Kevin Can F*** Himself.”
HBO Max brings back Yogi Bear and friends in “Jellystone!” and tries out a new dating show called “FBOY Island” where women date dudes who are either nice guys or bad boys and they won’t know which is which.
HBO launches a new Friday night talk show featuring Bob Costas.

“The Bachelorette” 8 p.m. ABC — It’s time for Katie’s former suitors to talk it out. But first, one of the men has an emotional realization about his journey to find love, which leads to a heartbreakingly honest conversation.
“Roswell, New Mexico” 8 p.m. the CW (third season debut) — While Liz is settling in to her new life and career in Los Angeles, Max, Isobel and Michael are figuring out if the stranger in the cave, with the familiar face, is friend or foe.
