A missing person report about Kelly Price was filed in Cobb County.

Representatives for well-known gospel and R&B singer Kelly Price said she is safe despite a missing person report filed in Cobb County.

Price was reported missing after she was discharged from the hospital where she was being treated for COVID-19, officials confirmed Friday. According to reports from TMZ, her representatives said she is not missing and is safely recovering from her hospital stay in private. Cobb police have not confirmed that her missing person investigation has been closed.

The chart-topping singer and metro Atlanta resident has not been seen since police performed a wellness check at her home Sept. 18, according to reports from TMZ. Cobb police confirmed to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Price has been reported missing but did not provide additional details.

Price, 48, announced that she was sick with COVID-19 on her Instagram account July 29 and has not posted since. At the time, she said she was not in the hospital. Price’s family said she was admitted to the hospital about a week after she made the post, TMZ reported.

Price’s grandfather, Jerome Norman Jr., the former pastor at the Full Gospel Mission, Church of God in Christ in Queens, New York, died from COVID-19 in April 2020, the AJC previously reported. Six months later, her mother, Claudia Price-North, the former musical director at the church that primed Price’s singing career, died.

Price’s “Friend of Mine” debut single in 1998 topped Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and she’s had more than a dozen other hits. She released her gospel EP “Grace” in April. In addition to her successful solo career, Price has collaborated with some of the biggest names in show business, including Mariah Carey, Tyler Perry, the Notorious B.I.G. and Whitney Houston.
