Possibly because of a radical overhaul of Georgia’s roster, the Bulldogs were picked to finish last in the SEC in the coming basketball season.
In a vote of media members who cover the SEC and some who cover national college basketball, Georgia was picked last in the conference, and no Bulldogs players were chosen either first- or second-team preseason All-SEC.
Coach Tom Crean is having to work in 10 new players this season, seven transfers and three freshman signees. Senior P.J. Horne is the only returning starter from last season’s team, which finished with a 14-12 overall record, 7-11 in SEC games.
The Bulldogs will begin their fourth season under Crean when they play Florida International on Nov. 9 at Stegeman Coliseum. Before that, Georgia has two exhibition games scheduled, at Charlotte at 3 p.m. Sunday and at home against Morehouse at 2 p.m. Oct. 31.
