The National Weather Service issued an updated wind advisory at 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday in effect until Wednesday at 7 a.m. The advisory is for Dade, Walker, Catoosa, Whitfield, Murray, Fannin, Gilmer, Union, Towns and Chattooga counties.
"Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph," states the NWS. "Winds may diminish in the lower elevations this evening, but remain strong and gusty overnight at elevations above 2000 feet."
"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," describes the NWS. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution."
