There is arguably no combination of numbers more sacred to native Atlantans than 4-0-4.
That seemingly meaningless trio of digits long stood as the area code typically associated with residents who called inside the perimeter home, and made its debut in 1947. It was a hotline that rapper Ludacris once made into a hot song.
The line went dead in 2013 after reaching its nearly 8 million phone number capacity.
Today, we still honor this numerical love affair with 404 Day and celebrate all the things that are uniquely Atlanta on April 4. However, we know this is a city where parties start before and after the main event.
From the first-ever 404 Day parade on Peachtree Street and the daylong music festival in Piedmont Park to a 2 Chainz concert and block party thrown by Black lawmakers across from the State Capitol building, it’s a lot to navigate. We’ve got options for you.

Beats on the Beltline
The Beltline is no stranger to runners, walkers cyclists and roller-skaters who unapologetically test your eardrums (and patience) with their singing or bluetooth speakers.
