While some people are three weeks into “dry January,” others are starting 2022 on the prowl for a new wine of choice.

Red, white, sparkling, on vacation or after work, people love wine. Some people become aficionados, sampling wines from all over the world, while others stick to their tried-and-true favorites. But have you ever wondered what the most popular wines are?

The Waycroft conducted a study to determine which wines America was pouring the most — across the country, by state, and in each region of the country — using data from Google Trends.

In Georgia, according to the study, Pinot Grigio is the most popular wine. And despite the noble reputation of red wines, Moscato, Pinot Grigio and Riesling make up the three most-searched wines in the U.S., topping the search charts in 22 states.

What’s not to like about white wines that are a little sweeter? They’re versatile, delicious, go well with chicken and fish, are refreshing in the warmer months and are a delightful treat while you sit beside a winter fireplace.
