Whether you’re going to an Easter church service, an egg hunt or spending some restorative days at home, metro Atlanta’s weather will be perfect this weekend.
Temperatures on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will top out in the mid-to-high 80s, according to the National Weather Service. The Sunday holiday promises weather just right for donning your finest springtime outfit and Easter bonnet.
“We’ll have increasing clouds, but temperatures (will be) up into the mid 80s,” said Channel 2 Action News Chief meteorologist Brad Nitz.
Rain also will hold off until Monday.
If you’re headed to the Easter Sunrise Service at Stone Mountain, you’ll want to pack a light jacket, especially if you’re there when gates open at 3 a.m. Sunday. Overnight temps will fall into the mid 60s and will stay in that range until the sun lifts over the mountain.
The yearly interdenominational service is at 7 a.m. at two locations: the top of the mountain and at the base on the Memorial Lawn.
By midmorning, temps should reach the 70-degree range, and by brunch or lunchtime, we should be in the low 80s.
Be mindful if you’re doing any grilling, as we’ve not had any recent rain. Use caution when managing a coal grill or any other outdoor open flames and look out for any fire danger statements from the Weather Service.
Rain is expected to return next week, with scattered showers and storms most likely on Monday and Tuesday. Each day could see at least some rain, though.
