TUESDAY’S WEATHER | Not as hot with temps staying in upper 80s

We’re having a brief return to more seasonable temperatures in metro Atlanta with highs staying in the upper 80s on Tuesday.

It’s a welcomed reprieve from the sweltering heat of the last few days, but it’s still going to be muggy.

Morning temps are in the upper 70s as the sun rises, with the feels like temperature in the low 80s.

By lunchtime, air temperatures will be in the low 80s. At the same time on Monday, we were in the 90s.

“So today it’s going to go a lot better getting out for that lunch break,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said.

Not much rain is in the forecast, either. There is just a 10% chance of a stray shower.

“Most of the area will stay dry,” meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

There is a slightly higher chance of showers on Wednesday, and even more — a 30% chance — on the 4th of July. Things should stay dry for the most part, though, especially for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race Thursday morning.
