A man who was detained by Atlanta police at a Buckhead apartment complex after a fatal stabbing Monday evening has been arrested, authorities said.

Orlando Asprilla, 36, was taken into custody on charges of murder and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony, police said.

The victim has not been publicly identified.

Few details have been released about the incident, which took place at 3699 Lenox Road. The address, located near the corner of Lenox and Piedmont roads, is home to Prominence Apartments and multiple restaurants.

A representative for Crawford Square, which manages retail leases at the property, said the stabbing took place in the residential apartments and not at one of the businesses.

Officers responded to the building after getting a 911 call about a person stabbed, police said. At the scene, police found the victim already dead from multiple stab wounds.

Police did not say what led investigators to name Asprilla as the suspect. According to online jail records, Asprilla does not have a history of felony arrests in Fulton County.
