A man has been arrested and charged in a fatal shooting at a Cobb County apartment complex Friday.
Police were called around 7:15 p.m. Friday to the Westminster Square Apartments on Windy Hill Road just outside Marietta. The location is west of I-75 near Dobbins Air Reserve Base.
When police arrived, they found Micah Bender, 21, of Lithia Springs, with gunshot wounds. Bender was rushed to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital but did not survive.
Investigators determined Samir Bennett, 24, of Marietta, was a suspect and arrested him that same day, officials said. He was booked into the Cobb County jail on multiple charges, including felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Authorities did not explain what led to the shooting or ifthe victim and suspect knew each other. No other details have been released by police.
