Atlanta police are asking for the public’s help in finding a vehicle they say was involved in a robbery and fatal shooting of a teenager outside a small northwest Atlanta food market last week.
Officers were called to the B&E Food Mart in the 1000 block of Hollywood Road, near Center Hill Park, around 11 p.m. Friday. There, they found 18-year-old Jalin Hammons in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said. Hammons was pronounced dead at the scene.
Atlanta homicide commander Lt. Andrew Smith told Channel 2 Action News that there was a verbal exchange between the victim and others inside a black sedan before gunshots rang out.
