A man was arrested Saturday, a day after a deadly shooting near several southwest Atlanta businesses, police said.

Jasen Williams, 23, turned himself in at the Fulton County Jail and is facing charges of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, officials said.

The shooting happened shortly before noon Friday in the 2600 block of Campbellton Road near a small grocery store, a hair salon and a tire shop. The area is west of Adams Park and south of the Cascade Springs Nature Preserve. Officials said Jamar Akins, 21, was found with a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators were able to determine that Akins and Williams “were familiar with each other and involved in an ongoing dispute that resulted in gunfire,” according to police.
