A rideshare driver is accused of shooting a passenger amid an argument near Atlantic Station early Monday morning, according to officials.

Details are limited, but Atlanta police said the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the 200 block of 18th Street near the upscale Midtown shopping area.

The victim, identified by police as a 26-year-old man, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and was described as stable, according to authorities. The driver, identified as Robert Wallace, was arrested. He’s been booked into the Fulton County jail on an aggravated assault charge and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Officials have not said what the argument was about or why it escalated to gunfire.

No other details have been released by police.
