A teenager was fatally shot and another was injured Saturday in Hall County, police said.
Aristo Ramirez, 17, was found dead in a crashed vehicle on Hillcrest Avenue around 8 p.m., according to Gainesville police. The residential area is just north of Gainesville Square and not far from Longwood Park.
“It is believed that Ramirez was shot then crashed the vehicle," officials said.
A 16-year-old, who police said fled the area before their arrival, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the foot.
Authorities said the investigation suggests the incident was “not a random crime,” but no further details were released.
