Carrollton led 22-8 at halftime before Gainesville scored 14 unanswered points to open the second half.
Then the Trojans, ranked No. 3 in Class 6A, exploded for another three touchdowns to win the game comfortably. Four-star Gainesville quarterback Kharim Hughley threw a pick-six that sealed the loss for the Red Elephants.
Sequoyah is trying to take back its region behind an unbelievable outing from running back Will Rajecki.
Sequoyah is beating Sprayberry 56-20 in the fourth quarter behind six touchowns from the Memphis commit.
Sprayberry, which won Class 5A-Region 6 last season for the first time in over a decade, will likely start 0-1 in region play.
Calhoun led 21-7 early, then Cambridge stormed back for a 35-21 lead in the third quarter.
Both teams have just kept scoring from there, with perhaps the most explosive touchdown of the second half coming on a 67-yard pass from Calhoun sophomore quarterback Trace Hawkins.
The Yellow Jackets came up just short of a massive comeback win last week in a 38-35 loss to Cartersville.
Reigning state champion Bowdon is on upset watch for its second loss of the season in a back-and-forth battle against Heard County.
The Red Devils, who were 11-point favorites entering Friday night, are now trailing the Braves 29-28.
Heard County took its first lead with roughly four minutes to go on Ethan Tisdale's third rushing touchdown of the night. Tisdale made it a one-score game with his second just minutes before.
North Forsyth jumped out to an early lead and kept control all night in a 28-7 win over South Forsyth. The Raiders improved to 3-1 after beating South Forsyth for the second straight time.
North Forsyth has won three of the last five meetings.
Cairo is well on its way to a statement win over a respected Class 2A program in Cook.
A one-point favorite entering the game, Cairo leads Cook 35-6 in the third quarter.
Cook also lost to fellow Class 2A program Callaway last week.
Khamari Brooks is expected to play EDGE at the next level, but he's arguably made a bigger impact tonight on the offensive side of the ball.
In a game where home-team Jefferson was favored by one point, Brooks has led the Titans to a 28-0 halftime lead with dominant run defense and two touchdown receptions.
Kaiden Prothro is not a small human. The 5-star tight end looks like a power forward grabbing a rebound on this touchdown catch, boxing out the shorter corner and high-pointing a touchdown.
Bowdon leads Heard County 14-10 at halftime.
Gainesville receiver and Furman commit Cam James made the highlight of the first half, going full extension to snag a back-shoulder pass in the corner of the end zone for the score.
James' score tied the game at 8-8 before Carrollton scored twice in the final five minutes to take a 22-8 lead at halftime.
North Oconee's defensive front, led by AJC Super 11 selection and four-star EDGE Khamari Brooks, is dominating Jefferson early.
North Oconee scored the game's only touchdown on a 30-yard pass from Harrison Faulkner to Brooks, who also plays tight end for the Titans.
