The Braves on Wednesday announced their non-roster invitees for big-league camp in spring training.
Perhaps the most intriguing name: Drake Baldwin, the top catching prospect who was in major-league camp last year. Baldwin could debut this season.
Baldwin is the only top prospect included on the list. Remember that Hurston Waldrep, the Braves’ first-round pick in 2023, already is on the 40-man roster, and all 40-man players begin in big-league spring training.
Left-hander Chasen Shreve, a reliever with big-league experience, also will be in camp. So will right-hander Royber Salinas, who was dealt to Oakland in the Sean Murphy trade but is back in the organization.
Garrett Cooper is the most well-known name among the infielders. You might remember him from his Marlins days.
The Braves report to North Port, Florida, on Feb. 10. Pitchers and catchers have their first workout Feb. 12 and the full squad will officially work out for the first time Feb. 18.
