Five players with ties to Georgia were called into the U.S. men’s national team for its upcoming camp. The USSF announced the squad Monday.
Former Atlanta United players George Campbell and Miles Robinson, Lawrenceville’s Walker Zimmerman, Powder Springs’ Shaq Moore and Savannah’s Indiana Vassilev were among 24 players called up by manager Mauricio Pochettino for the camp scheduled to start Tuesday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The U.S. is scheduled to play Venezuela on Jan. 18 in Fort Lauderdale and Costa Rica on Jan. 22 in Orlando.
Robinson, a centerback, made 123 regular-season appearances for Atlanta United before he signed with Cincinnati as a free agent before the 2024 season. He has made 30 appearances for the U.S.
Campbell, a centerback, made 36 appearances for Atlanta United before he was traded to Montreal before the 2023 season. This is Campbell’s first call-up.
Vassilev, a midfielder, has made 108 appearances with 10 goals and 11 assists for Inter Miami and St. Louis. This is Vassilev’s first call-up.
Zimmerman, a centerback, has 266 appearances for Dallas, LAFC and his current team, Nashville. He has made 41 appearances for the U.S.
Moore, a fullback, had 66 appearances for Nashville. He was traded to Dallas during the offseason. He has 19 appearances for the U.S.
