One of Georgia Tech’s reserve offensive lineman decided to continue his career elsewhere.
Brandon Best announced Monday he plans to transfer from Tech. The 6-foot-4, 305-pound sophomore spent three seasons with the Yellow Jackets.
Best was considered a three-star prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite, in the 2022 class out of Milton High School. He played on 21 special-teams plays over four games as a freshman, played on 13 offensive snaps over three games in 2023 (and on 69 special-teams plays) and this past season saw the field on 21 offensive plays and 67 special-teams snaps.
Best joins fellow offensive linemen Kai Greer, Patrick Screws, Corey Robinson and Jordan Brown, running backs Trey Cooley and Evan Dickens, linebackers Jacob Cruz and Caleb Dozier, defensive backs Jayden Davis and Taye Seymore, defensive linemen Horace Lockett, Uche Iloh and Romello Height, wide receivers Eric Singleton Jr., Christian Leary and Leo Blackburn, running back Evan Dickens and quarterback Zach Pyron as Jackets who have left Tech this offseason.
Tech, meanwhile, has added punter Marshall Nichols (Nevada-Las Vegas, Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School), running back Malachi Hosley (Penn, Northside-Columbus High School), defensive ends A.J. Hoffler (Clemson, Woodward Academy), Brayden Manley (Mercer) and Ronald Triplette (Texas-San Antonio), long snapper Luke Whiting (Florida Atlantic), linebackers Melvin Jordan IV (Oregon State) and Cayden Spaulding (Tennessee Tech, Miller Grove HS), defensive tackle Matthew Alexander (Central Florida, Buford HS), tight ends Harry Lodge (Wake Forest) and J.T. Byrne (California), wide receivers Debron Gatling (South Carolina, Milton HS), Dean Patterson (Florida International) and Eric Rivers (Florida International), offensive linemen Andrew Rosinski (North Carolina, Creekview HS) and JaKolby Jones (Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi) and defensive backs Kelvin Hill (Alabama-Birmingham, Carrollton HS) and Daiquan White (Eastern Michigan, Creekside HS) for the 2025 season.
