Georgia Tech is adding an offensive weapon to its roster for the 2025 season.
Malachi Hosley, a running back, intends to transfer to Tech, 247Sports reported Tuesday. Hosley is a 5-foot-10, 205-pound sophomore who spent the previous two seasons at Pennsylvania.
A graduate of Northside High School in Columbus, Hosley was named the Ivy League offensive player of the year earlier this month. Hosley was unanimously named a first-team all-Ivy selection in 2024 after leading the Ancient Eight in carries (191), yards (1,192), touchdowns (9), yards per carry (6.2) and rushing yards per game (119.2). His 1,192 yards were the eighth most by a Penn running back in program history.
Hosley ranked fourth in FCS in rushing yards per game, 11th in total rushing yards, 13th in all-purpose yards per game (128.1) and 16th in yards per carry. Hosley had seven 100-yard games, and his signature performance of the year came at Cornell, rushing for 192 yards and two touchdowns.
In 2023, was the Ivy League rookie of the year honors, a first-team All-Ivy selection and Jerry Rice Award finalist for FCS freshman of the year. He totaled 723 rushing yards on 121 carries and seven touchdowns.
At Northside High, Hosley was region player of the year and Class 5A player of the year as a senior in 2022 while setting the school single-season rushing record in back-to-back seasons and the single-season record for rushing touchdowns in 2022.
Hosley joins defensive end Brayden Manley (Mercer), long snapper Luke Whiting (Florida Atlantic), linebackers Melvin Jordan IV (Oregon State) and Cayden Spaulding (Tennessee Tech, Miller Grove HS), defensive tackle Matthew Alexander (Central Florida, Buford HS), tight ends Harry Lodge (Wake Forest) and J.T. Byrne (California), wide receivers Debron Gatling (South Carolina, Milton HS), Dean Patterson (Florida International) and Eric Rivers (Florida International), offensive linemen Andrew Rosinski (North Carolina, Creekview HS) and JaKolby Jones (Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi) and defensive backs Kelvin Hill (Alabama-Birmingham, Carrollton HS) and Daiquan White (Eastern Michigan, Creekside HS) as players who plan to transfer to Tech for the ‘25 season.
