Andrico Hines, the offensive coordinator for Langton Hughes’ 2022 Class 6A championship team, is Hughes’ new head coach.
Hines will replace Daniel Williams, who became head coach at Northside-Warner Robins earlier this month.
Hines ran the Hughes offense that scored a state-record 792 points and finished 15-0 in Hines’ only season with the south Fulton County school. Hughes also became the first team in GHSA history to score 35 points or more in every game.
Hughes’ quarterback was Air Noland, an AJC Super 11 pick who signed with Ohio State. Georgia offensive lineman Bo Hughley was another outstanding offensive piece on that historic team.
It was Hines’ first state title. He also was co-offensive coordinator on Creekside’s 2013 state championship team. Hines has coached at Greene County, Riverwood, Alexander and Ware County. He was at Hughes one season.
Hines is a former Riverdale, Middle Tennessee and Arena League quarterback.
Hines’ record was 5-14-1 at Berkmar, a Gwinnett County program that has suffered several winless seasons over the past 10 seasons.
Hughes was the Class 5A runner-up to Milton in 2024.
