“Regretting You,” a new film starring Allison Williams and McKenna Grace, is set to begin production in metro Atlanta on March 3.

The movie is based on a 2019 bestselling novel of the same name by Colleen Hover, whose 2016 novel “It Ends With Us” became a successful movie starring the now-feuding Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively.

“Regretting You” centers on the relationship between Morgan Grant (Williams) and her teenager daughter Clara (Grace). The production company’s description of the film reveals that Morgan became a mother at a young age, putting her own dreams on hold to raise Clara. As Clara grows into a teenager, their relationship becomes strained, especially after a tragic accident claims the life of Chris, Morgan’s husband and Clara’s father.

The film is “set against the vibrant backdrop of Atlanta” and is a “real-life depiction of mother-daughter wrangling at its rawest,” according to a description published by ProductionList.com.

Williams, 36, is best known for her roles in HBO’s “Girls,” the horror comedy “Get Out” and the horror movie “M3GAN.” Grace, 18, has shot multiple projects in Atlanta including “The Haunting of Hill House” and “A Friend of the Family.” She is also in the cast of “Scream 7,” which is now shooting in Atlanta.
