One person was shot Friday evening at the West End MARTA station in southwest Atlanta, police said.

The victim was shot on the northbound platform at the station on Lee Street, MARTA police spokesperson Sgt. Deneya Littles said. The person was said to be alert after the incident, and remained in the hospital Saturday morning.

No details on a suspect or what led to the shooting were provided, but Littles confirmed officials were searching for the alleged shooter.
