A Rockdale County mother has been charged with murder after her 1-year-old died, the sheriff’s office said Wednesday afternoon.
But investigators don’t know where to find Gloria Wright. The 23-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder and first-degree child cruelty, the sheriff’s office said.
On Jan. 8, deputies responded to a call about a person not breathing. They arrived to find it was the 1-year-old. Despite resuscitation attempts, the child died at the hospital, the sheriff’s office said.
The child, who was not identified, died from blunt force trauma to the head, a sheriff’s office spokesperson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“Authorities are actively searching for Gloria Wright, a 23-year-old Black female, and are requesting public assistance in locating her,” the sheriff’s office said in a social media post.
Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact Investigator G. Levett at 404-520-5475 or 770-278-8166 or through email at Grote.Levett@rockdalecountyga.gov.
