Advisers to Vice President Kamala Harris are very concerned by the bomb threats targeting predominantly Democratic areas.
The Democrat’s campaign has yet to speak publicly about the issue, which is affecting a dozen precincts around metro Atlanta. But people tied to the campaign, who are not authorized to speak publicly, have expressed sharp concerns privately about the threats.
Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said Tuesday evening that the 12 affected precincts will be kept open for the amount of time they had to close, between 20 and 40 minutes.
Six precincts in DeKalb have received threats, along with five in Fulton and one in Gwinnett. All are in Democratic strongholds.
Raffensperger also reported that a record 1.2 million Georgians have voted today.
“You never had this kind of turnout before,” the Republican said. “So voters are responding.”
