Age-old rivalries and region battles will be decided in Week 10 of the Georgia high school football season.
Teams have three more Fridays to earn playoff spots and improve standings in the final year of the GHSA’s current seeding model. Metro Atlanta will host many of Georgia’s top games this week, including two showdowns between undefeated teams.

Oglethorpe County's upset of Rabun County last week likely won't be topped this season, or any time soon for that matter.
But that didn't stop the Patriots from making a little more history Friday night. Oglethorpe County beat Commerce for the first time since 1992 (it was 0-6 since).
Oglethorpe County, which was 0-10 last season, moved to 4-4 and is aiming for its first winning season since 2005. The Patriots will face region bottom feeders Providence Christian and Banks County to close the regular season.
Oglethorpe County is currently in position to make the playoffs as the No. 4 seed from Region 8-A Division I.
Douglass was a six-point favorite entering Friday night, but it looked much more dominant in a 42-0 win over North Clayton.
The Astros won their sixth straight game — five of which have been shutouts — and could pitch another one against Mt. Zion next Friday. Douglass is also the only remaining undefeated team in its region after knocking off North Clayton.
Two-point underdog Newnan jumped out to a massive lead over Lovejoy and held on late for a 38-28 win.
The Cougars handed the Wildcats their first loss of the season and moved into fourth place in Region 3-5A. Newnan faces Banneker and McIntosh to finish the regular season while Lovejoy faces the region's top two teams in Hughes and Northgate.
Archer cleared a road test at South Gwinnett with a 24-7 win Friday night. The Tigers appear to be Region 4-6A's best chance at stopping Grayson's pursuit of a fourth-straight region championship.
If Archer beats Heritage-Conyers next week, a shocking upset of Grayson would win the region.
The cross-town rivalry between Grayson and Archer will be renewed on Oct. 31 at Archer.
Roswell sent a message to Region 7-5A with a 57-0 domination of Lanier Friday night. The Hornets more than covered their 19-point spread and turned up the heat on their two-week gauntlet to finish the regular season.
Roswell faces nationally-ranked Gainesville and Milton to finish the regular season. The Hornets likely won't be favored in either game, but they are two wins away from winning one of the most difficult regions in the state.
Crisp County picked up its third win of the season and gave Pierce County its first loss of the season with a 28-16 upset.
The 21-point underdogs trailed 10-0 early and took their first lead with a third-quarter touchdown. The Cougars took a 21-16 lead into the fourth quarter before sealing the win with a 21-yard rushing touchdown minutes later.
Brookwood proved itself to be the dominant brand in a game with no favorite, according to the Maxwell Projections.
The Broncos fired out of the blocks and held a 35-7 lead at the end of the third quarter. Peachtree Ridge gained some ground back in the fourth, but Brookwood closed out its fourth straight region win.
Brookwood is tied for second place in the region with fellow 4-1 Norcross. The Broncos and Blue Devils will likely play for the No. 2 seed in the region in a Week 12 matchup.
Troup County asserted itself in a battle between Region 2-3A unbeatens Friday night, knocking off LaGrange with a dominant 38-24 win.
Troup County took control with a long scoop-and-score for a 28-14 lead. Then the Tigers tallied their third and final rushing touchdown of the night to put the game away with just over four minutes left in the second quarter.
Troup County built a quick 14-0 lead, then LaGrange tied it late in the second quarter. The Tigers kept fighting in the final seconds of the half, as quarterback Garrison Edwards threw a go-ahead touchdown pass with less than a minute before the second quarter ended.
The Tigers now share first place in the region with Sandy Creek. Troup County hosts the Patriots to close the regular season in Week 10.
McEachern scored four of its five touchdowns on the ground in a dominant 35-14 win at Hillgrove.
The Indians moved to 8-0 and stand alone in first place in the region standings. McEachern quarterback Calvin Pittman Jr. threw for a touchdown and ripped off another explosive score on the ground.
Running back Henry Pullen scored thee touchdowns on the ground, including the final two to put the game away in the crucial rivalry win.
Benedictine won its most lopsided game of the season, bashing Ware County by a final score of 75-7.
The Cadets had not scored more than 61 this season entering Friday night. It was Benedictine's first time scoring 70-plus points since the 2021 season.
