The Yellow Jackets continue to climb in the national polls.

Georgia Tech came in at No. 7 in The Associated Press Top 25 released Sunday. It’s the highest ranking for the program in the regular season since 2009, when the Jackets were No. 7 in November of that year.

Tech is 7-0 for the first time since they started 9-0 in 1966, and the Jackets are 4-0 in the ACC for the first time since 1998. The Jackets have won six straight conference games and nine straight home games going into a matchup with Syracuse (3-4, 1-3 ACC) at noon Saturday.

A win against the Orange would make Tech 5-0 in ACC play for the first time.

The Jackets beat Duke 27-18 on Saturday in Durham, North Carolina, to continue their unbeaten run. Tech trailed 10-7 early in the third quarter before scoring 20 straight points to seize control.

Also Sunday, Tech was ranked No. 7 in the US LBM Coaches Poll and No. 7 in the Football Writers Association of American-National Football Foundation Super 16.
