A shooting left a teenager and a man dead early Thursday morning in a DeKalb County neighborhood, where evidence markers littered the scene hours later.

The double shooting happened shortly before 4 a.m. along Rockcliff Road just south of I-20 in the Gresham Park community. Police spokesperson Blaine Clark said shots were fired into a residence.

By around 1 p.m., police identified the victims as 13-year-old Demarcus Shirley and 45-year-old Chauncey Newman. The relationship between the two was not provided.

Several other people were at the home at the time of the shooting, but Clark said they were not injured.

Police have not released information about the shooter or a possible motive.

The investigation remains active.
