Heard County QB Ethan Tisdale is Player of the Week for Week 1

It’s not the first time Ethan Tisdale has rushed for 200 yards, or thrown four touchdown passes in a game, but Heard County’s four-year starting quarterback likely has not had a more complete or satisfying game than his opening-night effort against Central of Carrollton.

Tisdale, who is committed to Memphis, rushed for 205 yards and two scores, passed for four touchdowns and committed no turnovers. He even punted twice for nets of 41 and 45 yards. That helped lead Heard County to a 50-28 victory over a team ranked No. 5 in Class 5A. It was Class 2A No. 1-ranked Heard County’s first victory in history over a ranked team from a higher class.

Tisdale – who surpassed 9,000 total yards in the Central game - is the AJC Varsity/GHSF Daily player of the Week.
