Elijah Hutchinson rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries and had a team-leading five solo tackles and two tackles for loss. Last week: Beat Whitefield Academy 34-28. Keon Cleland scored on a 4-yard run in overtime after Mount Vernon stopped Whitefield Academy on downs. Mount Vernon sent the game to overtime on AJ Rahal’s 46-yard TD pass to Taurean Rawlins on a third-and-8 with 1:58 left. Rahal was 11-of-18 passing for 145 yards and two touchdowns. Rawlins, who is committed Georgia, had seven receptions for 123 yards and two touchdowns. The victory over a Top 10 opponent was Mount Vernon’s first in history.
